Colon Cancer afflicts millions of people around the world. One of the definitive test involves invasive procedure called Colonscopy,a screening procedure which enables Doctors to insert fiber optic colonscope through the rectum and diagnose various diseases of the colon. But,now a non invasive blood test will help doctors to determine who needs a colonscopy,a test which is unpleasant, however essential for all adults who are older than age 50 years.
Johns Hopkins University researchers are developing this simple blood test. This does not replace colonscopy investigation.By developing this simple test doctors can now determine which patients require invasive colonscopy and thus, avoid the complications associated with colonscopy.
